Whether you’re an aspiring young dancer or an experienced pre-professional, Ballet Chicago offers summer programs designed to foster technical excellence, artistry, and personal growth.

Explore the Summer Programs

5-Week Summer Intensive (June 23 – July 25)

For dancers aged 11 and up, the Summer Intensive provides an unparalleled experience. Students engage in a robust curriculum that includes:

• Women’s and men’s technique (Balanchine style)
• Pointe and variations
• Pilates and stretch
• Modern dance and classical Spanish dance
• Pas de deux (upper levels only)

This immersive program is ideal for serious ballet students eager to refine their skills in a supportive yet challenging environment.

2-Week Advanced Repertory Workshop (July 28 – August 8)

Designed for advanced dancers, this workshop focuses on bridging the gap between technique and artistry. With daily coaching sessions, students gain:

• Strength and musicality
• Purity of line
• Self-confidence and focus

Admission is by audition only, making this program a perfect complement to the Summer Intensive for serious dancers looking to elevate their performance skills.

Junior Intensive (Ages 8–12)

Available in three sessions:

• Session 1: June 16–20
• Session 2: July 18–August 1
• Session 3: August 4–8

The Junior Intensive introduces young dancers to the foundations of classical ballet. With an emphasis on posture, form, and expressiveness, this program inspires confidence and creativity while building a strong technical base.

A Path to the Annual Program

Dancers who excel in the Summer Intensive or Advanced Repertory Workshop may be invited to join Ballet Chicago’s 2025–2026 Annual Program—a pre-professional training program that prepares students for a future in ballet.

National Audition Tour 2025
