Our summer intensive offers serious dance students extraordinary opportunities to train, rehearse, and perform alongside the professional dancers of Carolina Ballet. Classes and rehearsals are held Monday through Saturday and include up to six hours of instruction and rehearsals each day. The program is designed to cultivate strong, well-trained artists. Classes in ballet technique, studies en pointe, variations, men’s class, men’s variations, modern/contemporary technique, jazz, character, Pilates, yoga, partnering, and conditioning provide a strong foundation in classical training. Alongside renowned Carolina Ballet faculty & professional dancers, summer guest faculty will consist of Michael Vernon, Chair of the Department of Ballet at Indiana University, Olga Kostritzky, world-renown ballet teacher/mistress, and more. A platform for dancers to further their professional careers without spending thousands of dollars on an audition tour one city at a time. Be seen by 20 company directors in one California location! Session 1 is December 27-28, 2024 with Atlantic city ballet, Ballet 5:8, Ballet California, Ballet Melange, Ballet North Texas, Boulder Ballet, Dayton Ballet, Diablo Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Minnesota Ballet Session 2 is December 30-31, 2024 with American Midwest Ballet, Ballet Arkansas, Ballet Austin, Ballet California, Ballet Hartford, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Colorado Ballet, Golden State Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Utah Metropolitan Ballet Each dancer will be seen in a ballet and modern class. Company directors will decide who they wish to call back, and each director will work in their own way with the dancers they call back. Summer Intensive Audition is December 29, 2024.
