The Ballet Scout was created for dancers to find audition opportunities all on one centrally located platform. Composed of several teams to ensure that users have the most up to date audition information, we wanted to highlight each group and share how they contribute to The Ballet Scout!
Robert's dance journey began in Pennsylvania at Allegheny Ballet Company. He continued his training at the Houston Ballet Professional Division before joining Ballet West as a trainee. Now a dancer with Nevada Ballet Theatre, Robert has performed lead roles in works by George Balanchine, Ben Stevenson, Nicolo Fonte, Septime Webre, Trey Mcintyre, and more. His favorites have been Scarecrow in Septime Webre’s Wizard of Oz & Siegfried in Ben Stevenson’s Swan Lake.
In addition to his dance career, Robert is pursuing a Business Major at Penn State World Campus. Drawing on his education and passion for dance, he founded The Ballet Scout, a comprehensive database for dancers seeking auditions, training programs, and jobs. Robert's vision for BalletScout is to help all dancers pursue their passion and find success. By creating a centralized platform, Robert aims to streamline the audition process and make it accessible for dancers everywhere, whether they’re just starting or seasoned professionals. BalletScout is designed to eliminate the guesswork, reduce the time spent searching, and offer dancers a clear path to connect with the opportunities that can shape their futures. Through BalletScout, Robert hopes to support the dreams of dancers across the globe, making the journey a little smoother and success a little more attainable for everyone in the dance community.
Eugene is BalletScout's CSO and Developer, overseeing software development efforts and keeping the site running smoothly. A friend of Robert, he was brought onto the team in late 2020. BalletScout's initial draw to Eugene was a desire to assist performers of all kinds with finding their next opportunity after seeing how quickly things spun down during the Coronavirus pandemic. Eugene is proud to have had a hand in taking BalletScout from a proof-of-concept website to the platform it has become today, with thousands of monthly visitors and more advertising clients every day.
Outside of BalletScout, Eugene works as a technician for Philly Community Wireless building community-controlled wireless networks in North Philadelphia and enjoys cycling, playing in bands, reading, and hanging out with his cat.
