Auditions Weekend of February 7th!

The application process for a Mercyhurst University Dance major (as both a freshman or transfer student) is unique in that it consists of two separate applications. Please be aware that in order to audition and gain acceptance as a dance major, you must first apply to Mercyhurst University.
Once you have submitted this application, you may then proceed to fill out the Department of Dance application and submit it for an audition. We are now accepting applications for the 2025-26 year. If you audition and are accepted to the Department of Dance, it is contingent on your acceptance to the university.
Both the B.A. and BFA programs require a full audition.

Modeled after the schedule and rigors of a professional ballet company, our summer intensive is for the 12 to 25 year old pre-professional dancer.
Every dancer is offered the challenge and opportunity to learn and perform new repertoire each week.
Dancers spend Monday through Thursday taking three technique classes per day.
- Pointe, jazz, modern, character, variations and partnering are taught as extra compulsory classes four times weekly.
- Afternoon and evening rehearsals follow daily classes.
- Friday’s schedule consists of two technique classes and a dress rehearsal.
- Saturdays begin with warm up class followed by final rehearsals and preparations for the evening’s public performance.
$40 cash payment due at time of City Audition Class.

Hong Kong Ballet is seeking experienced classical dancers at the corps, soloist and principal levels for the 2025-26 season to dance in one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world.
Height requirements:
- Female dancers (Height 164-175cm)
- Male dancers (Minimum height 178cm)
Hong Kong Ballet offers a 12 month renewable contract commencing in July 2025.

Audition eligibility and criteria:
- All Apprentice and Company applicants must be 18 years or older by September 1, 2025
- Trainee Program: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have completed High School by September 1, 2025.
Interested candidates should direct the following to [email protected] and/or bring materials to the 2/9 audition:
- CV
- Headshot
- 2-3 full body dance photos that show body proportions and lines.
Regardless of online submission or in-person audition, dancers are required to send a recent video (with no introduction or complex editing) including the following selections in form fitting dance attire:
- 1 short selection of classical repertoire, danced en pointe if appropriate.
- 1 selection of contemporary repertoire that illustrates the dancer’s command of a range of movement and artistry that contrasts their classical work.
- 3-5 minutes of barre work showing both sides.
- 3-5 minutes of center work including adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro, danced en pointe if appropriate.
- Examples of partnering experience are greatly encouraged.
