- All dancers should wear solid-colored tights with either a solid-colored leotard or form-fitted shirt that allows faculty to clearly see the body.
- While not required for audition, prospective students with pointe experience are welcome to wear pointe shoes for the ballet portion of the audition.

- Audition application must be submitted by Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
- Must be accepted by the University of Georgia to attend UGA Department of Dance as a dance major or minor.
- All dancers seeking entrance to the UGA Department of Dance are required to submit an application form through Acceptd by October 21, 2025.
- A one time non-refundable application fee of $35.00 is required.
- Applicants will need to submit:
- Full length picture of the applicant in dance attire in a position of your choice (not a performance photo).
- A statement of purpose: one to two paragraphs outlining your interest in becoming a dance major, your interest in UGA Dance and your future goals or hopes for discovery in the field or related fields.

- Acceptance into the BFA in Dance program requires an application to The Ohio State University Undergraduate Admissions (Columbus campus) AND the Department of Dance Audition.
- Please note: you will receive a university admission decision between December/January and March so we recommend you audition in-person as soon as possible.
- You will receive an audition decision about acceptance to the dance major between November and February (after each audition).
- Dance scholarships will not be awarded until March.
- Audition will consist of:
- Movement practices, such as African, contemporary, and ballet.
- No separate headshot or dance resume are required as part of the audition.
- Please wear comfortable clothing with clear and simple lines. It is best to wear a bright colored leotard or top. Bare feet and ballet shoes requested. No pointe shoes.

- Applicants must be prepared to submit a Video Audition, Dance Resume, Headshot, and Dance Shot.
- The Video Audition should be a maximum of 15 minutes in length, and should include barre work (tendus, degage with passe, ronde de jambe á terre and en l’air, adagio, and grand battements) center work (tendus/pirouettes from 5th, adagio, and small jumps), and a short clip of phrasework or performance footage, either on stage, in the studio, or at home.
- Dancers must have an advanced ballet experience level.
- Open to dancers ages 16-24 years old.
- Pointe is required for the Intensive.
