The Akhmedova Ballet Academy’s Pre-PTP 1 program offers an excellent introduction to the Russian Vaganova Method for children. The students will learn the basics of the Vaganova Method and will be introduced to the terminology of classical ballet. Learning the basic technique will develop a foundation that the students can advance forward with. This class will develop the strength and flexibility and knowledge young dancers are required to have for the next level of programs. They will learn the foundation of ballet positions and movement through slow and methodical classes. They will learn to understand music, rhythm and basic coordination. Besides classical technique the students will have stretching, conditioning, and Pilates classes to prepare and develop their muscles correctly for their training. Students also will be learning choreographies created for them according to their ability and age. They will perform these pieces in studio and at ABA’s performances on a professional stage. All the above are very important aspects of training for this age level in preparation for their advancement into the next level of ballet training
