It is the mission of AmericanYouthBallet (AYB) to provide the very finest dance training in the Hudson Valley to anyone who seeks to experience the joy and the fun of dance. AYBballet provides a well-rounded dance curriculum that includes serious training in classical ballet (Technique, Pointe, Variations, Partnering, and Men’s Classes) for both the professional ballet student and a full curriculum for young dancers beginning at the age of six. Whether you are interested in a professional career or are simply looking to dance for fun, students are taught classical ballet technique in a warm, supportive atmosphere and classes are small with personalized attention. In addition, guest faculty provides specialized workshops uniquely tailored for the AYBballet student. Although the primary goal is to prepare dancers for professional careers we realize that most of our students will not pursue a career in dance. These students benefit from dance in many ways by learning grace and poise, along with the mental and physical discipline that promotes a strong and focused character. Stage performance is an integral part of our program that gives our students the confidence and the opportunities to demonstrate their training and abilities. The character, grace, poise, discipline and confidence skills learned remain useful throughout their life regardless of the path they choose. Community service is also an essential part of our dance curriculum. Students not only perform in shows, demonstrations, competitions, but in community service events as well. Community service not only introduces people to ballet who may never have had the opportunity to experience ballet but also help local community organizations such as Farm Aid, and local Parent Teacher Associations. We believe our mission not only prepares students for careers in ballet but also for life.
