Dancers accepted into Ballet North Texas' Trainee Program focus on perfecting their technique while discovering what it takes to transition into a professional dance career. Ballet North Texas' Artistic Staff instructs the Trainee Program classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, partnering, modern, and Pilates. Trainees learn and perform both repertoire by Artistic Director, Nicolina Lawson, and choreography created by the artistic staff. Performance opportunities include a fall concert, The Nutcracker, winter concert, spring concert, and festivals. The Trainee Program is a two year program. Trainees will take company class with BNT each morning followed by classes specifically catered towards repertory, choreography and the dancers' individual needs. Trainees will be involved in BNT rehearsals throughout the day. In addition, trainees will have their own Saturday classes, rehearsals, career planning, resume writing and assistance in the audition/job search process with individual counseling and meetings. Trainees' hours will vary based on their rehearsal schedule.
