Boca Ballet Theatre’s Summer Performance Workshops have earned a reputation for being the most thorough and rewarding dance experience a student can have during the summer, and many use it as a launching pad for a professional career in dance. Under the supervision of BBT’s Co-Artistic Directors Dan Guin and Jane Tyree, the program offers top quality teachers and master guest Artistic Directors from top conservatories and companies around the country. The Summer Performance Intensive Workshop culminates in a full-length performance of a classic, modern, or contemporary work. Students perform together with guest artists from renowned companies like American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet.

Session Description

Take classes in ballet technique, pointe technique, variations, jazz, and modern. Additional classes in Pilates and hip-hop will also be included. Use classes to audition for visiting Artistic Directors. Meet and ask questions of the visiting Artistic Directors during the “Meet the Director” lecture series. Learn what it is to be a member of a corps de ballet, dancing with some of the finest professional dancers in the world. Dance enrichment sessions will include: question and answer sessions with professional dancers, technical theatre production, video critique of historic ballet performances, plus discussions on resume, make-up and audition skills. Perform in a full-length concert with professional dancers. ACCEPTANCE BY AUDITION ONLY! Placement will be determined during the first week of classes Proficiency en pointe required for female dancers
