Founded by longtime CCDT Artistic Associate Arwyn Carpenter as the Young Apprentice and Core Apprentice Programs, the newly redesigned Accelerated Training Program provides a taste of what it's like to dance with a company, allowing dancers as young as age 10 to begin to test out their dreams and enhance their progress as dancers with additional training. Apprentice Program membership brings many benefits, at no cost, including: A minimum of 2 professionally produced performances each season one weekly repertoire and creation session one weekly Modern technique class with Company Directors (supplementing weekly ballet and modern technique classes at the School of CCDT*) one weekly Conditioning Class for strength, flexibility, alignment, injury prevention, and mental health support comprehensive preparation for entry to performing arts programs and future pursuits in the performing arts mentorship from senior dancers, and making life-long friends Accelerated Training Program dancers commit to an 11-month season. In July, new and returning dancers attend CCDT's three-week international SunDance summer intensive in preparation for the upcoming season. From September to June, ATP dancers take at least five weekly dance classes* (ballet and modern techniques), rehearse repertoire and participate in the creation of new works, and perform in a minimum of three professional productions. Acceptance to CCDT's Accelerated Training Program is through annual audition only. The Program is directed by an experienced professional dance artist, and guest choreographers are invited to create new works each year. One of the greatest benefits of membership always has been the lasting friendships that are formed through these unique experiences. ACCELERATED TRAINING PROGRAM Ages 10-14**
