We are seeking a dynamic and creative Contemporary Dance Teacher to lead engaging and inspiring classes for students of varying ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contemporary dance, a passion for teaching, and the ability to foster an inclusive environment that encourages artistic expression, technical growth, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver contemporary dance classes, focusing on technique, improvisation, and choreography for students ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, self-expression, and confidence. Teach contemporary dance techniques, including release techniques, floor work, and dynamic movement, while ensuring proper alignment and safety. Develop original choreography for classes, workshops, and performances, tailored to the skill level and needs of students. Provide constructive feedback to students to support their technical and artistic development. Collaborate with studio staff to organize showcases to highlight student progress. Stay updated on current trends in contemporary dance to incorporate fresh ideas and styles into classes. Communicate effectively with students regarding progress, expectations, and studio policies. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience teaching contemporary dance to students of varying ages and skill levels. Strong technical background in contemporary dance. Professional performance experience in contemporary dance is a plus. Experience with choreography and creating original works for performances. Skills and Attributes Passion for contemporary dance and a commitment to fostering students’ artistic and technical growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and create a positive learning environment. Creativity in designing engaging lesson plans and choreography that inspires students. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels. Strong classroom management skills to maintain focus and encourage collaboration. Physical stamina to demonstrate movements and actively participate in classes. Work Environment Part-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on class schedules. Classes held in a professional dance studio equipped with sprung floors and necessary equipment.
