Charlotte Ballet Academy is now accepting pre-recorded video submissions for admission into the Professional Training Certificate in Dance program. Registration for an audition can be made via the link below. VIDEO AUDITION FEE: $40 VIDEO AUDITION GUIDELINES: Video auditions should be no longer than 10 minutes in length. In the video, please include the following: Introduction saying your name, age, years of study, and current place of study. Center work combinations including adagio, petite allegro, grand allegro, pirouettes (en dehors and en dedans), For women: pointe work demonstration. This should reflect your training to date, whether remaining at the barre or including exercises in the center. Video does not need to include barre work. For men: tour en l’air and allegro combination that includes beats and pirouettes. Please upload your video to a file share such as Vimeo, YouTube, or DropBox for delivery via a link. Charlotte Ballet Academy and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte offer an exciting program to college students enabling them to earn an undergraduate certificate in ballet while pursuing a university degree. The Professional Training Certificate in Dance is a two-year, sixteen credit hour program, with the option to continue for an additional two years. All credits contribute towards the university degree as dance or general university elective credits. The Professional Training Certificate in Dance allows students to supplement their University dance studies and performance with training in a professional school. Charlotte Ballet is the only professional dance company in the Southeast with an affiliated school that offers this kind of certification in conjunction with a major university. Any new or continuing undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at UNC Charlotte may audition for the certificate program, regardless of the degree the student is pursuing. Upon acceptance into the UNC Charlotte/Charlotte Ballet program, students will take advanced level dance classes at the Academy. The certificate program will expand the range of opportunities for those wanting a college education, as well as a high level of professional ballet training.Updated: Sept. 5, 2025
