Cinballera Entertainment is looking for a male dancer for a show called A Dream Before Summer. It will be performed on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, at 3 PM both days. The theater is the Wilson Performing Arts Center at 3838 Orange Avenue in San Diego. The performance will include two pieces, an original ballet to a new composition called Wild Things and a ballet-opera called Le Villi, which is based on the same stories as Giselle. A professional male dancer who is very experienced in partnering is needed to play a male lead in both works. In Wild Things, he would be the Monster Cavalier, and his main duties during this 20-minute work would be partnering the Queen of the Wild Things. In Le Villi, he would play Franco, who is similar to both Albrecht and Hilarion in Giselle. He would dance with the lead ballerina and end up getting danced to death by the corps of Villi near the end. In all, it's not that much dancing, and it's all quite classical. We generally pay $80 per hour for rehearsals and $100 per performance, but we're willing to discuss other arrangements if preferred. Costumes are provided. Most of the rehearsals will be held at City Ballet of San Diego's studios in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, since the City Ballet Orchestra will provide the live music, and the City Ballet Studio Company will provide the female corps. Our rehearsal schedule is generally very flexible. We're willing to work around our dancers' schedules, also taking studio availability into consideration. We are willing to schedule one-on-one pas de deux rehearsals with the male dancer and our ballerina at another location if it's more convenient for him if necessary. The dress rehearsal is on June 6 at the theater, 6-10 PM.
