CityDance’s Young Training Program (YTP) and the new Foundation (YTP- F) provides students ages six to 12 with a high-quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate dance curriculum, specifically designed for young, talented students who are tracked to one day enter our Pre/Professional Conservatory. The program provides training across classical ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, Sri Lankan, Afro-Pop, and Umfundalei, as well as challenging repertory and presentations in the Conservatory annual performance seasons. Supported by our world-class faculty and in-house and guest choreographers, each child is guided by an individualized program designed to meet their unique needs, gifts and goals as they train towards entrance into our pre-professional and professional training program.

Foundations Classes for the Young Training Program Ages 6-8 CityDance Conservatory’s Young Training Program – Foundations (YTP-F) provides students ages 6-8 serves with an entry point into a nurturing and high calibre dance training environment. Foundational dance training principles are coupled with developmentally appropriate dance curriculum, perceptual motor goals and basic anatomical knowledge to ignite and develop a passion for dance across multiple genres. CityDance’s Young Training Program (YTP) provides students ages 8-12 with a high-quality, engaging, and stimulating developmentally-appropriate dance curriculum including signature foundational ballet training, perceptual motor goals, with basic anatomical knowledge and guidelines. YTP dancers will continue to be tracked into higher levels of the Conservatory. Each child is guided by an individualized program designed to discover unique needs, gifts, and propensities and instill essential technique building blocks. There is an expected time commitment of three days per week while training across multiple training once accepted.
