Audition Description

PLEASE NOTE THAT SHOWS CONTINUE PAST CHRISTMAS UNTIL DECEMBER 28th. All children who are in the cast must be available through December 28, 2025. Students may audition for each role they meet the requirements for. If a student is auditioning for multiple roles, they will need to register for all roles they are auditioning for in the appropriate time slot. If cast in any company production, students will pay a $275 participation fee ($30 registration fee plus $245 flat fee) to cover the rehearsal hours and costume rentals. MANDATORY PARENT MEETING, SEPTEMBER 13, 2025 FROM 3:00-4:00PM A mandatory meeting will be held on September 13, 2025, from 3:00-4:00pm to discuss the audition process, appropriate parent/student expectations and the requirements of participating in professional company production. If families are unable to attend in person, they will be required to watch the recorded version of the meeting. All families will be required to sign the agreement on the topics discussed when registering for the audition. Two absences are allowed. Students who are absent more than two times will be removed from the production. All roles will be rehearsed on Saturdays. 2:30-4:00 Party Scene 4:00-5:00 Angels and Sugar Plum Attendants 4:00-5:15 Soldiers 5:30-7:00 Polichinelles and Legs Rehearsal with Company at CBA Saturday, November 22, time TBD Sunday, November 23, time TBD Tech Week at Ellie Caulking Opera House Tuesday November 25, Wednesday November 26 and Friday November 28, 2025 Times TBD – rehearsals will be during the day and the evening Student Matinee performances are on 12/4 and 12/5 at 11am (the Student Matinees are opportunities for local schools to attend a performance). CBA students cast in The Nutcracker will need to be present during the day for this performance and then return in the evening for rehearsal or performance. Students will also perform in the “5X5” performance date on December 4th at 6:30pm. (The Five by Five program is designed to enhance cultural experiences for families with children enrolled in the Denver Great Kids Head Start program. This initiative allows students, along with one adult and up to five additional family members, to enjoy free admission or unlimited visits to various cultural venues across Denver. The program aims to support kindergarten readiness by providing enriching experiences that foster learning and development.) If you are cast in The Nutcracker, you must adhere to the following: Attending all scheduled rehearsals, costume fittings & performances. Your absence from any rehearsal (excepting medical illness or injury) may disqualify you from further participation. Students must be fully enrolled in CBA's ballet program to be eligible. Students MUST be available during the week of Thanksgiving as dress rehearsals in the theater will begin this week. No exceptions will be made to this policy. Rehearsals will not be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 27, 2025.
