Columbus Dance Theatre (CDT) is a contemporary ballet company, professional training school, and arts presenter based in Columbus, Ohio. CDT performs primarily in its home venue, The J. Nick Marzella Theater, as well as at the Lincoln Theatre and additional venues throughout Central Ohio and across the United States. The company’s repertoire spans classical ballet, contemporary, and modern works, showcasing a wide range of choreographic voices. The CDT season runs from September through May. Contract offerings vary by experience and include Trainee (tuition assistance/work-study available), Apprentice (unpaid/paid), and Company positions. Dancers rehearse five days per week, with 2 hours of daily rehearsal in addition to Company ballet class. Trainees and Apprentices perform alongside the Company in CDT’s professional repertoire. Company & Apprentice Qualifications: - Minimum Age: 18 years old for Apprentice/Company consideration. (16 years old for Trainee consideration) - Strong ballet technique required. Women: pointe required. Ability to move in a variety of contemporary styles is beneficial. - Provide a head shot and/or full body shot as well as a detailed resume in the form to reserve your place.
