Description

Since 1996 the International Ballet Festival of Miami has been bringing together ballet dancers and enthusiasts from around the world to share their passion. In 2019, we expanded our offerings to include our Summer Intensive program. By combining experienced instructors, a supportive community, and the excitement of the festival, we provide an unparalleled opportunity for dancers to grow both technically and artistically. Our Intensive takes places towards the end of July and typically ends mid-August. We give the choice of participating for 2 or the full 3 weeks for students whose auditions have been approved. During the 2nd and 3rd week of the Intensive, students may train alongside principal dancers and soloists from top contemporary and classical ballet companies around the globe. This is the perfect opportunity for serious dancers looking to refine their skills in a creative and supportive environment. Our program is designed to support each student's technical level and is comprised of a well-rounded selection of classes. We believe in helping our students reach their greatest potential and provide them with the tools and training they need to succeed. Some of these classes include: Physical Conditioning Ballet Technique Variations Pointe Pas de Deux Group Choreography Contemporary Jazz Dance History Stage Makeup During this program, students will have the opportunity to garner new experiences which will uplift them to find growth and confidence within their ballet journey. Classes are held five days per week (M-F). Students can expect up to 35 hours of dance instruction per week. During the first week of the Intensive, students with an approved variation, may perform as part of our festival's International Youth Gala. On the weekends students and parents will have the chance to attend the festival's international guest star galas. Each week may vary as our schedule follows the International Ballet Festival of Miami's performances. Please see our Calendar of Events for more information.
