Description

This program offers after-school ballet training for dance students with a system promoting physical education with self-expression. In the Upper School, the intensity of training increases, and lays the groundwork for those aspiring to a professional dance career, and/or a serious collegiate dance program. At this level, we foster individuality, discipline, and high self-esteem. These classes provide further study and practice of ballet technique with greater emphasis on development of elevation, ballon, batterie, suppleness, aplomb and more challenging movement phrases. Students who have reached the required proficiency level may be invited to participate in Sunday Matinee performances, special, and community events.

Session Description

This program offers after-school ballet training for dance students based on the DTH ballet curriculum. In the Upper School, the rigor of training gradually increases, and lays the groundwork for those aspiring to a professional dance career, and/or a serious collegiate dance program. At this level, we foster individual development, discipline, creativity and high self-esteem while being a part of the DTH community. These classes provide further study and practice of ballet technique with greater emphasis on development of elevation, ballon, batterie, suppleness, aplomb, pointe work for levels 7 & 8 and more challenging movement phrases. Students study jazz as well.
