Description

The School of Dance Summer Dance Intensive is an on-campus or stay-at-home 2 week summer camp. All classes are taught by School of Dance faculty, alumni, and special invited guests. Students are housed in the FSU dormitory Ragans Hall and monitored by School of Dance camp counselors. Students may elect to stay off-campus and still participate in all classes and activities. This 2 week session emphasizes both ballet and modern technique similar to our dance major program (proficiency in intermediate ballet or contemporary technique is required for acceptance). Designed for the dancer interested in all forms of dance, the dancers’ will have the option to receive instruction in ballet, pointe, contemporary, improvisation, jazz, and hip-hop technique classes as well as conditioning. Students have daytime classes, evening classes, and fieldtrips. The program culminates with a showing in the Nancy Smith Fichter Dance Theatre on the final Saturday and is open to friends and family.
