Description

The Grainger Academy’s Pre-Professional Program is designed to meet the highest artistic standards. The artistic staff trains dancers to develop a strong foundation in classical ballet, while also offering a well-rounded curriculum in various styles of dance to create a versatile, professional dancer. Students participate in a set schedule of evening and weekend classes and have opportunities to perform in the Grainger Academy’s annual productions. All classes are required and vary between levels. Students register once in the fall and are committed to both fall and spring semesters. Pre-Professional students do not have a summer session but are encouraged to audition for our Summer Intensives.

Led by Karin Ellis-Wentz, Head of Conservatory and Pre-Professional Programs, the artistic staff trains dancers to develop a strong foundation in classical ballet, while also offering a well-rounded curriculum in various styles of dance to create a versatile, professional dancer. Students participate in a full schedule of evening and weekend dance classes and have opportunities to perform in the Joffrey Academy’s annual productions.
