Description
The JoffreyRED Summer Intensive is designed to provide a glimpse into the newly created, year-round JoffreyRED Contemporary Ballet Apprenticeship Program. Artistic Director, Josie Walsh, together with renowned professionals, instructors, and choreographers lead a daily training ground for classical and contemporary dance. Dancers will study techniques intended to prepare them for cutting-edge contemporary and contemporary ballet repertoire. A strong classical foundation will start each day with technique classes, Pointe and Partnering, while afternoons will expand into genres including Contemporary, Modern, Gaga, and Improvisation. Dancers attending both weeks of the program have the opportunity to join our performance and be a part of a new creation at a premier Los Angeles theater. Session Description
JoffreyRED Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive is the perfect fusion of classical and contemporary ballet. The program will provide a glimpse into the newly created, year-round JoffreyRED Contemporary Ballet Pre-Professional Program that is an extension of the Los Angeles based professional BalletRED Company. Artistic Director, Josie Walsh, together with renowned professionals, instructors, and choreographers lead a daily training ground for classical and contemporary ballet, modern and contemporary dance. Dancers will study techniques intended to prepare them for the cutting-edge contemporary ballet repertoire of BalletRED. A strong classical foundation will start each day with Ballet Technique, Pointe and Partnering, while afternoons will expand into genres including Contemporary Ballet, Modern, Contemporary Dance Improvisation and Ballroom.
