Description
The New York City Pre-Professional Contemporary Intensive is the newest addition to the Summer at Joffrey Ballet School! Artistic Director of the Joffrey Concert Group, Bradley Shelver, leads the intensive, immersing dancers ages 14-25 in the experience of life as a professional in the world of contemporary, concert dance. Mornings begin with daily technique classes with a contemporary approach, based in Limon, Graham, Horton, Taylor and ballet. Afternoons are focused on contemporary repertoire, where students learn the work of today’s most recognizable choreographers and their unique compositions set on companies across the world, including the Joffrey Concert Group. Connect with professional dancers, choreographers, rehearsal directors, répétiteurs, and Artistic Directors, as they bring their unique creative process to life throughout the week. Family and friends are invited to join an informal showing at the end of each week for a glimpse into the studios at the work developed by the choreographers. Choose to join one, or both weeks, of this unique experience, as we guide young artists in their journey from student to professional.
