The Kansas City Ballet is seeking dedicated Summer Intensive Resident Assistants (RAs) to provide leadership and supervision for students participating in the Summer Intensive program. RAs will live on-site at the Kansas City Art Institute with students age 12-22. RAs play a key role in fostering a supportive and safe community environment within the Residence Halls. Key Responsibilities: 1. Community Building and Student Support: - Build community and establish relationships with students on your floor. - Provide emotional support to students throughout the program. - Plan and lead on-campus activities to foster community building. 2. Supervision and Safety: - Supervise students during transportation on buses to and from classes. - Supervise off-campus activities to ensure student safety. - Work collaboratively with dorm staff to create a healthy and safe environment for students. 3. Administrative and Operational Duties: - Assist with lunch duties at the Bolender Center from Monday through Friday. - Possibly assist students with medical appointments when necessary. - Perform additional administrative duties as directed by the Summer Intensive Coordinator. Work Schedule: RAs are expected to be available for various shifts throughout the day, including: - Morning: Breakfast duty and assistance with loading buses to the Bolender Center. - Afternoon: Lunch duty and meetings with BC Staff, with some off-duty time. - Evening: Assistance with loading buses back to KCAI, bed checks, and dinner duty. Pay: $15.00 per hour The Resident Assistant position is a temporary position during the Kansas City Ballet Summer Intensive time period starting June 18, 2026, and ending July 26, 2026. The position is considered part-time, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay exceeding 40 hours per week. The Resident Assistant is expected to be available as needed beyond scheduled hours as required and compensated accordingly for these additional hours at time and a half the normal pay rate. Additionally, this position is required to live at The Kansas City Art Institute. Room and board are provided by Kansas City Ballet at no additional cost. As a benefit of the position, the Resident Assistant is invited to participate in the Summer Intensive morning classes as the work schedule and class space availability allows. Any mileage incurred on a personal vehicle for Summer Intensive related activities shall be reimbursed by Kansas City Ballet at the 2026 federal standard mileage rate.
