Description

As a liberal arts college, Marymount Manhattan College prides itself on the interdisciplinary approach to educating a well-rounded dancer. Our intensive includes technique classes in Ballet, Modern, Embodied Africanist Aesthetics, and Jazz, as well as other genres within a conservatory training environment. Committed to the intellectual development of the dancer, the intensive also offers courses in Dance & Cultural History, Anatomy, and Somatic Awareness to expose students to the complexities of dance and the body. This summer, we will be offering our intensive with Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department faculty members and Alumni in person. The days will have a check-in time of 9:30 a.m. (EST), followed by a full day of courses from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. A small reception/Alumni Q&A will follow classes for students and parents to learn more about the program. Campus tours will also be offered during the weekend.
