***Fall 2025 Transfer (Internal and External) A virtual callback audition is available for Tisch Dance applicants who have received a callback invitation, but cannot attend an in-person callback audition. Virtual callback auditions are considered as seriously as our in-person callback auditions, and the same team of Faculty evaluators review our virtual applicants. What To Expect: A virtual callback audition will consist of submitting a video of yourself performing a solo (up to 2 minutes in length, no pointe solos please), submitting a video of yourself responding to an improvisational dance prompt (provided by the Dance Department upon scheduling of your virtual callback), and having a 15-minute interview with a faculty member of the Dance Department over Zoom. The pre-screening process remains the same for those participating in a virtual callback. Virtual Callback Guidelines: Applicants will be notified if they are invited for a callback audition in accordance with the notification plan deadlines listed below. Callback notifications will be delivered by Admissions via email and posted in the Applicant Portal. Upon receipt of a callback invitation, applicants must schedule their callback audition in the Applicant Portal. Callbacks must be scheduled within 48 hours of receiving a callback notification. An invitation to a callback audition is not a confirmation of admission. Failure to respond to callback invitation within a timely fashion will impact your consideration of admission to the Dance Department. Only applicants who are being invited for a callback audition will receive a notification. Those applicants who are not invited for a callback audition will not receive a notification. Being invited to a callback, or not being invited, is not an indication of a final admissions decision to NYU.
