Description

The Nutmeg’s Year Round programs provide an environment in which young dancers flourish as artists both technically and artistically. Designed for the serious dance student, the programs are physically and mentally challenging, with approximately six hours of studio work daily, six days a week. Time in the studio is geared not only to gaining technical proficiency, but to preparing the students for the numerous performance opportunities available each season. All students interact with the entire faculty, whether they are students in the Ten Year Program who have come up through Nutmeg’s school (the Torrington School of Ballet) or students in one of the Two Year or Four Year Programs. While leveling of students is determined by the faculty based on proficiency and age, class size and level placement are designed to maximize a student’s success and encourage individualized attention.
