Portland Ballet is excited to announce the return of Open Auditions for our 2024 production of A Victorian Nutcracker! Auditions are open to dancers ages 7-17 from any studio in our community and will be held at our facility on Saturday, August 24th. Students who are enrolled in classes at Portland School of Ballet for the 2024/2025 School Year do not need to audition. Studio rehearsals will be held on Saturday afternoons - exact times TBA - from Saturday, September 14th through the performances. (There will be no rehearsals on Saturday, November 30th) Saturday, December 7: 2pm & 7pm at Sanford Performing Arts Center Tuesday, December 17: 10am & 7pm at Merrill Auditorium Saturday, December 21: 11am & 5pm at Westbrook Performing Arts Center Sunday, December 22: 2pm at Westbrook Performing Arts Center There will be dress rehearsals at the theater in the afternoon/evening prior to the performances. Dress rehearsals (times TBA): Friday, December 6 at Sanford Performing Arts Center Monday, December 16 at Merrill Auditorium Friday, December 20 at Westbrook Performing Arts Center *Participants must be able to commit to attending all of these performance and dress rehearsal dates.
