The Dance Performance Minor will enhance knowledge and execution of dance technique and performance. Why Choose a Minor in Dance Performance? This minor is popular among BFA students in Musical Theatre, but is opened to any student interested in furthering their technical and performance level in dance. What Will You Learn? Courses such as Experiencing Dance, Improvisation, Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Ballet and Classical Indian Dance, among others, will prepare the student with a foundation of technical and creative tools needed to succeed in Musical Theatre and other areas. Careers In Dance Performance Graduates with this minor may pursue careers in Musical Theatre and other performance opportunities, dance studio teaching, and dance in the community.

Studio practice classes in Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Ballet, Improvisation, Repertory, and Dances of Selected Cultures, among others, will prepare the student with a foundation of technical and creative tools needed to succeed in Musical Theatre and other areas. This minor is open to any student interested in furthering their technical and performance level in dance, and is particularly popular among BFA students in Musical Theatre. Graduates with this minor may pursue careers in Musical Theatre and other performance opportunities, dance studio teaching, and dance in the community. An audition is required for acceptance to the Dance Performance Minor.
