The minor in dance performance, which is available to all University students by audition, is designed for those with previous dance training who wish to continue the pursuit of their interests within the context of their liberal arts studies. Minors are assigned a faculty adviser in the Division of Dance and are required to consult with that adviser prior to registering each semester. Dance performance minors do not perform in main stage concerts but are eligible to audition for student concerts by permission of the chair. Minors are allowed to take only one technique class in any given semester. Students who wish to take more than the nine required credit hours of technique may do so only by permission of the chair. The minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours in dance as outlined below. A minimum grade of C is required in courses for the minor.
