Audition Description

Tabula Rasa Dance Theater (TRDT), led by Artistic Director Felipe Escalante, is seeking dancers experienced in Modern, Ballet, and Contemporary styles for “Un-Choreographed,” an anthology of dance featuring new work from choreographers of Latin American descent. Rehearsals will begin in May 2026, culminating in two performances at El Museo del Barrio’s Theater, El Teatro, on June 5th and 6th, 2026. The intention of “Un-Choreographed” is to explore, through the lens of heritage, culture, and corporeality, the lived experiences of the Latine diaspora in 2026. Escalante plus three additional participating choreographers will create new work for the project to interpret this theme from their individual perspectives, building a kaleidoscope of Latine expression through the medium of dance. Dancers will be cast in up to two pieces for the full evening of work. Dancers who identify closely with the theme of the project are highly encouraged to apply.
