Video Requirements:
Video Audition Guidelines for Texas Ballet Theater
Total length of video not to exceed 15 minutes.
Appropriate class wear in contrasting color to background with no extra warm ups or skirts.
At beginning of video, include a brief introduction of the dancer with name, age and date of filming. Barre work: 3 -5 minutes
1. battement tendu
2. fondu
3. adagio
4. grand battements
Center work: 5 - 8 minutes
1. adagio
2. pirouettes (en dehors and en dedans)
3. petit allegro with battu
4. grand allegro
Additional notes:
Ladies of advanced level to dance all center en pointe
Those recently en pointe include echappé with passé combination and turns across the floor
Men should include á la seconde turns and tours en l'air
If filming in a space not suitable for dance, adjust as necessary and submit a recent performance video.
Applicants interested in STC or PTD should include a classical variation and a contemporary/modern phrase or combination (2 -3 total minutes for both). In addition, include your resumé and letter of recommendation with application.
