POSITION: Nine-month, tenure track faculty position in Ballet at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025 The University of Oklahoma’s Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, School of Dance is seeking an Assistant Professor of Ballet to start August 11, 2025. Housed in the Reynolds Performing Arts Center and annually ranked as one of the top institutions in ballet and modern dance, the school offers a BFA in ballet performance, modern dance performance, ballet pedagogy and an MFA degree in dance. Our school, consisting of over 80 dance majors, emphasizes performing, with multiple mainstage performance opportunities each year and highly refined training that prepares our graduates to meet the expectations of a professional career in dance and sustain multifaceted careers with both nationally and internationally recognized companies and organizations. A strong ballet foundation was built by our founders Yvonne Chouteau and Miguel Terekhov. The development and growth of the ballet area continues to expand through our current nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty, ensuring small class sizes with one-on-one feedback for each student. The University of Oklahoma is home to the Five Moons Dance Festival, which celebrates the legacies of the five Native ballerinas from Oklahoma who rose to global fame for their transformative impact on the ballet world. The School of Dance is honored to be a part of the legacy built by one of the five moons, Yvonne Chouteau.
