Y.O.U Contemporary Ballets Junior Company is a training and performing opportunity for dancers aged 12-17 years at Intermediate/Advanced level who show the potential and desire to become professional dancers. The junior company works alongside YCB Pre professional program to provide talented dancers with a sense of creative expression and technical development and an opportunity to learn and perform YCB Repertoire. Through all aspects of the Junior Company dancers will be encouraged to explore their own identity as an artist. YCB Junior company will challenge the dancers to self reflect, explore their creativity and develop maturity as a dancer and artist. YCB Junior company aims to challenge, extend and nurture future contemporary ballet dancers. Dancers will have the opportunity to further develop the YCB methodology, create and explore their own movement and learn and rehearse YCB choreography in a professional context. Junior Company dancers technique will be accelerated through further development of Classical/ Contemporary Ballet, Modern and Contemporary Techniques and they will learn to push the boundaries of movement through guided improvisation work.
