Women's Dress Code

Please wear a unitard or leotard/tights, bare feet for contemporary no socks please, and ballet shoes for ballet class. We advise you to wear long sleeves and something on the legs for the improvisation and contemporary classes as it reduces friction and eases movement during the floor work.

Audition Description

Please make sure you have read all information about auditioning at BDI. We expect registered students to appear for the audition punctually and give notification if they cannot participate for any reason. You can audition for the 3-Year Education Programme or the P.O.S.T. Programme (Performance Oriented Student Transition). All students are required to audition in order to be considered for our programme. Please fill out the registration form to apply for the audition. In order for your application to be processed quickly and efficiently you must fill out the form completely. All correspondence is done through email so be sure to give us your correct email address. Please send us your CV with your dance experience and a short description as to why you want to become a dance artist, plus two passport photos (5×4) (dance photos are not required) and a copy of your identification card or passport. Your application will be processed as we soon as we have obtained your online registration form. A non-refundable fee is payable in advance by all applicants in order to reserve an audition place (bank details and fees). You can also choose to audition by video. The purpose of the audition is to allow the faculty to assess your physical potential, your ability to perform under pressure and your creativity. It will also show us your ability to critically think and understand the tasks given. The following tasks will allow you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and abilities through: Dance technique class (Ballet and Contemporary) Improvisation Jazz Repertoire Personal interview with the faculty
