The Metropolitan Opera is seeking video submissions from dancers for the 2025-26 new production of Gabriela Lena Frank’s magical-realist portrait of Mexico’s painterly power couple, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego. Director and choreographer, Deborah Colker, is seeking 12 performing dancers and 4 cover dancers with exceptional Acrobatic and/or Break-Dancing abilities, as well as strong contemporary dance experience, to portray men and women in the production. To fulfill this engagement, dancers will need to be available for rehearsals beginning March 30, 2026, through June 5, 2026, and as needed; and for performances scheduled for: May 14, 17 matinee, 22, 26, 30 matinee, June 3, 5, 2026. We are asking all those interested to submit headshots, resumes, and up to two video reels demonstrating their acrobatic and/or break-dancing abilities to this LINK by 11:59PM on July 1, 2025. Once reviewed, the choreographer may want to invite you to attend the in-person audition at one of the time slots listed below. You will be notified no later than August 12, 2025.Associated Jobs
